Aplastic Anaemia

Aplastic Anaemia is a blood disorder in which the body’s bone marrow does not make enough new blood cells. It may also be referred to as ‘bone marrow failure’ as the body does not make enough red cells, white blood cells or platelets.

Symptoms may include; tiredness due to anaemia, greater incidence of infection and uncontrolled bleeding.

Treatment usually involves blood transfusions and medications, but the more severe cases may require a Bone Marrow Transplantation.
