Haematology Non-Malignant Program

This program provides care for more than 100 infants, children and adolescents with haemophilia, thrombosis and other bleeding disorders in the Haemophilia Treatment Centre. The program also specialises in the care of children with rare haematological diseases such as Haemoglobinopathies including Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Anaemia.

Aplastic Anaemia is a particular focus of the program; the one team is responsible for the entire management of the patient from diagnosis, through transfusion and immunosuppressive therapy to bone marrow transplantation if it becomes necessary. The team offers multidisciplinary care which includes medical expertise, family support and education which will allow patients to manage their chronic condition and lead a rewarding and fulfilling life.
